Welcome to the Biology transition work
To those of you I have not yet had the pleasure to meet/teach, my name is Miss Messom and I am the Head of Biology at Chellaston Academy.
The transition work below is designed to help you move successfully from studying Biology in Year 11 to studying Biology in Year 12 and beyond. Biology A Level is much more detailed, interesting and challenging than the work you covered at GCSE so you should take every opportunity to improve your subject knowledge and skills.
Please complete both of the task booklets that are below - these were handed out on your subject transition day, but if you did not collect one and have the facilities, you may want to print them out (if not you can download them and complete them online, or write the answers out on a piece of paper).
You must ensure that you complete all the work in both booklets before your first Biology lesson in Year 12 and bring it to that lesson. We will need to see that you have completed the work.
Knowledge Organisers
Below are the knowledge organisers for the two topics that you will learn in your first few weeks of Year 12 Biology, you should read over them before starting the course to help familiarise yourself with the new terms that will be covered.
