Bus Transport

Many students travelling from Melbourne, Weston, Aston and Barrow on Trent will use the school buses to get to and from school. Parents need to apply to Derby City council for a bus pass and  for important information on where to get on.

The buses arrive before school starts. Please speak to your child and ensure they know they are to stay on the school site and not pop to Lidl or the Coop once the buses have arrived.

Information for parents driving their children to school

The road outside the main school gate on Swarkestone Road is very busy during the start and finish of school. If you drop off or collect a child from school, please make sure these rules are obeyed.

  • DO NOT bring cars onto the school premises.
  • DO NOT drop off or pick up your child outside the school gates or on the opposite side of the academy.

The safety of all our students MUST be our first priority.

Walking/Cycling

Students who walk to school should use the Pelican crossing opposite school to cross the busy road. Anybody who cycles MUST wear a helmet or leave their bike at home. There is a bike shed on school for students to secure their bikes using their own bike locks.

Electric scooters are not permitted in school.
