A huge welcome to Chellaston Academy. We are really excited to welcome you and your child to our community. The move to secondary school is a big one in any student's life and we will do everything we can to make the transition as positive as possible. We want to work with you to make your child's experience with us a fulfilling, exciting and academically successful adventure.
It is important that your child feels supported and reassured throughout the next couple of months and the face to face events as well as this virtual platform will help with this.
An information evening for parents will be held on 6th July 2023 at 6pm and further information about this will be emailed in June.

Please find below some key dates for your diary for the 2023 transition process.
Transition Days
- Tuesday 4th, Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th July - Year 6 transition days at the Academy.
During these days, your child will meet their form group and tutor and experience a series of different lessons including English, Maths, Science, Technology, Drama, Art, Music, PE and Spanish or French.
During the final half term, Mrs Haywood will visit primary schools to meet with the year 6 teachers to gather information that will enable us to ensure the learning needs of all students are met from their first day in September.
Miss Starbuck will be in contact shortly with enhanced transition dates for some students.
